Britto Romero Biography
Romero Britto (Recife, 1963) Britto Romero is a Brazilian artist, painter, sculptor, whose works combine elements of cubism, pop art and graffiti. He worked the streets in Coconut Grove, quickly becoming famous. He created portraits of Roger Federer, David Hoffman, Michael Jordan, Andre Agassi, David Rockefeller and other figures linked to business and politics. His artistic career began in 1989, when he was assigned by Absolut Vodka the task of designing the bottle label and from that moment the artist's style, bizarre and cartoonish, was requested in many companies for the creation of murals and logos of various products. His aluminum sculpture, titled “Welcome,” is one of the largest in the world and was exhibited at Dadeland Station in Miami. Furthermore, the portrait of Ernst Beyler, the art dealer and founder of Art Basel, is now exhibited at the Fondation Beyeler, the important Swiss museum with works by Klee, Picasso Cèzanne and many others.
