Giuseppe Rosa (1948 - ) Born in 1948 in Villimpenta. After a period of studies in Milan, he has resided in Mantua since 1965. He alternates his life of study and work between Mantua and Milan, frequenting the Luggi studio from 1968 to 1975, participating in collective exhibitions in Italy and abroad. He joined Arte Struktura in 1998 and has participated in the "MADI Italia Movement" since 1999. Preceded by a figurative period, the first material works were born in those years. But it is above all in the nineties that he manages to focus on the mathematical, physical and constructive principles that characterize his work, experienced not as a mere didactic exercise. He is not interested in dealing with theories of perception, shape and color. The artistic practice to which he dedicates himself derives from the desire to look at the work as an autonomous structure, which breaks the traditional limits of the painting and interacts with the physical space. The search for change begins by using wooden materials, shaped and bevelled with manual interventions, to obtain overlapping shapes, all framed and painted with acrylic or mixed media, applying short final signs in contrast, almost to evoke a remote painting-painting thought , giving rise to groups of works in installations: shape-color.
