Giovanni Maria Rossetti Valentini (1796-1878) was an Italian philanthropist and painter. He founded the Rossetti Valentini School of Fine Arts, which was highly appreciated by the generations of painters who attended it.
He studied in France and taught drawing in important artistic institutes such as Rodez and Montpellier, obtaining the Knight's Cross of the Legion of Honor and the Crown of Italy, as well as becoming Napoleon III's Education Officer. Read the full biography

Giovanni Maria Rossetti Valentini (1796-1878) was an Italian philanthropist and painter. He founded the Rossetti Valentini School of Fine Arts, which was highly appreciated by the generations of painters who attended it.
He studied in France and taught drawing in important artistic institutes such as Rodez and Montpellier, obtaining the Knight's Cross of the Legion of Honor and the Crown of Italy, as well as becoming Napoleon III's Education Officer. In 1867, Rossetti Valentini decided to return to his native town and in 1869 he opened a free drawing school at his own expense and took over the management of it.
