Russolo Luigi (Portogruaro, 1885 - Cerro di Lavenio, 1947) Luigi Russolo was an Italian painter. He moved to Milan, where he decided to dedicate himself to painting and where he met the artists Carlo Carrà and Umberto Boccioni. Russolo approached the futurist current after meeting Marinetti, signing the Manifesto of Futurist Painters and the Technical Manifesto of Futurist Painting. He was also influenced by Bragaglia's photo dynamism and Marey's chronophotographs. In 1913 he began conducting his first futurist concerts, using instruments that produced noises, the "intonarumori" and began collaborating with the magazine "Lacerba". In 1921 he gave three concerts in Paris, which won the admiration of Igor Stravinsky, Sergei Diaghilev, Ravel and Mondrian. After a period spent in Spain, Russolo returned to Italy (in the 1940s), where he began painting in a figurative style again.
