SALIR The company was founded in 1922, founded by Decio Toso and Giuseppe D'Alpaos with the dual intention of recovering particular aspects of the Murano tradition (copper wheel, sand, diamond point engraving, vitreous enamel decoration , the production of mirrors with ancient techniques and craftsmanship) and to seek new artistic and technological solutions. In the field of engraving, the famous Bohemian master Franz Pelzel was the artistic director for over fifty years; in that of design and art he avails himself of the collaboration of, among others, Guido Balsamo Stella, Vittorio Zecchin, Tono Zancanaro, Vinicio Vinello, Giò Ponti, Giorgio De Chirico. The founders' sons, Mario D'Alpaos, art master, and Luigi (Gigi) Toso began working in the company at a very young age, under the guidance of Franz Pelzel, and, owners since 1970, promoted a profitable relationship with numerous artists including Riccardo Licata, Agostino Venturini, Ettore Sottsass, Fulvio Bianconi, Vincenzo Eulisse, Marco Zanini, Wendy Wheatley, Renato Guttuso, exhibiting at many exhibitions nationally and internationally and obtaining various prizes and recognitions. https://museovetro.visitmuve.it/it/mostre/archivio-mostre/farevetro-creativita-e-tecnica-in-cento-opere/2011/10/4405/salir/
