Sachs Tom (New York, 1966) Tom Sachs is a sculptor, best known for works that involved him with the politics and history of Modernism. He creates elaborate installations, rearranging icons of modern design and using different materials, from Le Corbusier's model made of polystyrene panel to McDonald's plywood. He thus creates unexpected juxtapositions, with both humorous and political visions, but the artist is perhaps best known for his interest in examining history, aesthetics, the space program, in particular the “Apollo” lunar missions of the 60s and 70s. Sachs' works have been exhibited in numerous solo exhibitions at the Park Avenue Armory (2012), the Fondazione Prada in Milan (2006), the Astrup Fearnley Museet fur Moderne Kunst in Oslo and the Deutsche Guggenheim in Berlin (2003).
