Costanzo Salvador Biography

Costanzo Salvador, born in 1940 in Buenos Aires, was a fundamental figure on the Argentine and South American art scene. He attended the Manuel Belgrano National School of Fine Arts, where he distinguished himself as an exceptional artist and obtained the title of National Master of Visual Arts. Furthermore, he also taught at the Office and Technical Chair of Visual Arts I to III at the Department of Visual Arts of the National University Institute of Art (IUNA).
Salvador's work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Argentina and around the world. His first solo exhibition was held in 1980 at the Retiro Gallery in Buenos Aires, while from 1983 to 1986 he exhibited at the Imagen Art Gallery. His works were inspired by jazz and blues music, to which he often gave the title of great musicians belonging to these musical genres. In 1996 he showed a selection of his works at the Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires and in 1999 he exhibited at the Marisa Soibelman Gallery in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
Salvador has received numerous awards and recognitions throughout his career. In 1980 he obtained the ninth mention at the Salon of Plastic Arts in Buenos Aires, while in 1997 he received a mention at the Museum of Plastic Arts Eduardo Sívori in the XLII Municipal Salon of Plastic Arts "Manuel Belgrano" (painting). He has also participated in more than 170 salons and group exhibitions, exhibiting his works in museums in Argentina and private collections around the world.
Today, Salvador continues to live and work in Buenos Aires, where his work continues to inspire generations of artists and art enthusiasts.
