Massimo Salvadori Biography

Massimo Salvadori (1960 - ) was born in Casale Monferrato in 1960. His works are characterized by a clearly recognizable style, the creation of which refers to Optical Art: an abstract art movement of the 1960s, interested in the research of various optical effects obtainable by retinal stimulation. In front of his works, mostly small in size, one remains almost hypnotized, one chases the figures, one tries to build something concrete by chasing possible three-dimensional reliefs. Everything remains extremely controlled, closed in a mathematical precision that does not allow deviations. In his case these are compositions based on geometric structures in which flat color backgrounds are spread which determine optical sensations of movement obtained with the application of mathematics to reality. The very lack of a significant title is an indication of the fact that the author leaves every possible reading to the subjectivity of the user, without in any way indicating a preferred or in some measure authentic interpretative direction.
