Lily Salvo was born in Argentina to a family of European origins. He lived for a long time in Uruguay, in Montevideo, then moved to France, to Paris, and then, from 1974, to Italy: first to Florence, finally to Rome (1985). She was a student of Joaquín Torres García. The Blanes Museum of Contemporary Art in Montevideo (Uruguay) dedicated an anthological exhibition to her in 2020.
Lily Salvo's artistic universe is increasingly characterized by a happy combination between the magical narrative of her origins and the scrupulous pictorial mastery that has been able to draw inspiration from Italian art, without however falling into slavish imitation.
