Sant'Elia Antonio (Como, 1888 - Monfalcone, 1916) Antonio Sant'Elia was an Italian architect. He graduated in architecture in Bologna and soon began to develop research into the use of new building materials, such as reinforced concrete, iron and glass. The artist's drawings were characterized by the presence of oblique lines, elliptical shapes, distribution towers and by a search for a relationship between the volumetric solutions of the buildings and the city. These projects found a theoretical presentation in two manifestos, published in 1914: "Message" and "The Manifesto of Futurist Architecture", with which he definitively entered the Futurist movement. Saint Elias became one of the notable figures of 20th century Italian architecture. He created only two important works: Villa Elisi in San Maurizio (Como) and the war memorial (Como).
