Saudek Jan (Prague, 1935) Jan Saudek is an artist of Jewish origin. After the Second World War he began to paint and draw, and was subsequently hired at a printing house. With the catalog of his famous exhibition in New York he decided to become a professional photographer. In 1969 he traveled to the USA and held his first solo exhibition at the University of Bloomington. His first shots were printed in black and white or sepia, while from the 1970s he began to color his prints with watercolor, creating a completely recognizable style. The main themes of his works are: eroticism, the female body, with references to religious and political symbols of corruption and the theme of childhood and the passage of time, depicting the same figure in the same pose in different periods of his life . The artist exhibited his works in many cities around the world, such as Antwerp, Brussels, Paris, Chicago, Bonn.
