Angelo Savelli (Pizzo 1911 - 1995). Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, he made his debut with expressionist works. Among the promoters of the Art Club in 1944, after a short stay in Paris (1948) he lived in Venice; from 1954 he settled in New York. His work, characterized by white surfaces modulated in minimalist relief, has evolved, in a happy union between painting and sculpture, into large geometric structures (Inficosmo, Gibellina, Civic Museum). He also experimented with graphics (graphics prize, Venice Biennale 1964) and ceramics.
