William Sawaya, born in Beirut in 1948, is an architect and designer who studied at the National Institute of Fine Arts of Lebanon. Subsequently, he deepened his studies and experiences in the field of product design, architecture and art in Paris and Milan, considering them as a necessary part of a coherent living culture project. William Sawaya, born in Beirut in 1948, is an architect and designer who studied at the National Institute of Fine Arts of Lebanon. Subsequently, he deepened his studies and experiences in the field of product design, architecture and art in Paris and Milan, considering them as a necessary part of a coherent living culture project. In 1978, he settled in Italy and opened his own design studio. Since then, he has designed residences and commercial buildings in Italy and abroad. In 1984, he founded Sawaya & Moroni Contemporary Furniture together with Paolo Moroni, where he directs and coordinates the artistic and design activities. Subsequently, he began to collaborate with other companies such as FIFA, the Bagatti Valsecchi museum, Andreu World and MINI. He has participated in numerous personal and collective exhibitions in the field of art and design. His work is regularly published in books dedicated to design and architecture, in magazines and newspapers, and is present in various museums and in many public and private collections.
