Scalco Giorgio (Schio, 1929) Giorgio Scalco is an Italian artist. He initially attended the Faculty of Law in Milan, before moving to Rome and dedicating himself to graphics and illustration. He graduated in scenic architecture, obtaining the Ciak d'Oro from the Presidency of the Council. Only in 1958 did he resume his activity as a painter, also dedicating himself to mosaics and frescoes, both in Italy and abroad, and collaborating with Sam Swartz of the Guldhall Gallery. He traveled to the United States, Russia and in 1981 began a collaboration with the Galleria Forni in Bologna. He organized numerous personal exhibitions around the world, such as the exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris, at the Steltman Gallery in Amsterdam, at the Solomon Gallery in London, at the Prom Gallery in Munich and took part in important international events and exhibitions: London Fair , ICAF Los Angeles, exhibition “DIe Kraft Der Bilder” at the Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin. He currently works at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where he was also the owner from 1968 to 1992.
