Carlo Scarpa attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice where he began his professional activity. He dedicated himself to university teaching which, with various roles, he continued until 1977. He established himself after the Second World War with important installations, including in Venice: the Paul Klee exhibition for the XXIV Biennale, the Art Book Pavilion (1950 ), the Italian Pavilion at the XXVI Biennale. He began his collaboration with Venini in 1932 and became the artistic director until 1946. He designed objects and lamps. He will leave a very important mark both for the design of models and for the research of the most refined techniques.
