Hugo Scheiber (Budapest, 1873-1950) Hugo Scheiber was a self-taught Hungarian painter who later attended Henrik Papp's School of Design. He subsequently moved to Berlin and Paris, where he came into contact with the modernist movements of the time. Thanks to his friendship with Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, Scheiber joined the futurist movement, from which he developed a cubo-futurist project. In 1923 he exhibited together with the group formed by Klee, Kandinsky, Marc, Chagall, thanks to whom he met Katerine Dreier, who introduced him to New York circles. The artist's favorite subjects were the world of theater and nightlife, in which he always used bright and original colours.
