Schnabel Julian (new York, 1951) Julian Schnabel is an American artist. He attended the University of Houston and after graduation participated in a study program at the Whitney Museum in New York. In 1978 he began a journey to Spain, Italy and Germany, exhibiting in important European and American galleries. In 1995 he collaborated in the production of a film dedicated to Jean-Michel Basquiat and four years later he directed the film “Before Night Falls” (2000). The artist's works are present in some collections of important modern and contemporary art museums: The Art Institute of Chicago, Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Center Pompidou in Paris, Museum of Modern Art in New York, Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Tate Gallery in London and many others.
