Emil Schumacher (Hagen, 29 August 1912 – Sant Josep de sa Talaia, 4 October 1999) was a German painter. A young student from Dortmund, he worked for a certain period as an industrial graphic designer and then participated in the Second World War. Initially an expressionist, Schumacher then joined the post-cubist movement, becoming one of its most famous exponents. Teacher in Hamburg from 1958 to 1960 and in Karlsruhe from 1966 to 1977, in his last years he worked on architecture.
