Enrico Scippa (1937 - ) is an eclectic artist, not only a painter but also a sculptor and goldsmith, born in Lecce on 6 February 1937. He began his artistic activity while still a university student. A twenty-year-old student, he left the Faculty of Economic Sciences to enroll at the Scuola Libera del Nudo in Rome, a city in which he spent about ten years. In 1966 he moved to Brussels, then to The Hague and finally to Paris. In 1969 he returned to Italy, where from 1975 to 1977 he taught in Florence at the Art School. He exhibits in numerous solo exhibitions, group exhibitions and prize-winning exhibitions. In 1976, he created a series of multiples in bronze and other materials, while simultaneously working on the design of gold and precious stone jewelry: all work that led him to travel frequently to Europe and the United States. On the occasion of the Holy Father's visit to Lecce, he created, at the invitation of the Province, a gold cross which the Pontiff wore during sacred functions. He has collaborated for several years with numerous architecture and communication studios. Scippa has exhibited in solo exhibitions both in Italy and Europe and, in the United States, in New York. The work is presented in a frame.
