Scirpa Paolo (Syracuse, 1934) Paolo Scirpa is an artist from Milan. In his works, light and space are understood as the true immaterial and spectacular protagonists. The artist's intent, in fact, is to represent "ideal" light, linked to a concept of "infinity" and for this reason he uses mirrors and light tubes. He began to create Ludoscopes, three-dimensional works which present an illusory perception of depth and which soon attracted the attention of many art and science scholars. Subsequently he also created many works denouncing consumerism, such as "Consumerist Megalopolis" (1972). He participated in the IX and XIII Quadrennial of Rome. Many of his works are preserved in collections and museums, such as the Museo del Novecento, the Castello Sforzesco, the Library of the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera.
