Antonio Scoccimarro Biography
Antonio Scoccimarro was born in Milan in 1931. He lived the experience of war during his school years. After completing scientific high school, he enrolled in the Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan, where he obtained his degree in 1957. After almost ten years dedicated to the profession of architect, Scoccimarro decided to return to the Polytechnic of Milan as a voluntary assistant at Barbiano in Belgianioso. From 1966 to 1970, he held the role of assistant and subsequently of substitute professor at the Franco Albini Chair of Architectural Composition.
Subsequently, Scoccimarro was appointed full professor of Architectural Construction Design and in 1993 he took on the role of Director of the Department of Building Planning, Design and Production (PPPE). For a period of ten years, until 2003, he led the Department during a time of great changes, which led to the establishment of the DiTec Department (from 1996 to 2001) and, following the merger with the DISET department, to the creation of BEST-Building Environment Science and Technology.
After his retirement, Antonio Scoccimarro continued to work at the Polytechnic as a contract professor, continuing his passion for the diffusion and transmission of knowledge and experience gained in the field of architecture.
