Raimondo Radames Scoppa was an Italian painter born in 1820, originally from Naples. His artistic production focused mainly on the depiction of historical subjects and landscapes. He studied at the Royal Institute of Fine Arts in Naples, under the guidance of the well-known teacher Gabriele Smargiassi, who taught him the practice of painting from life and the importance of the classical setting of landscapes. Throughout his life, Scoppa participated in many exhibitions, showing his artistic production focused on the landscapes of the surroundings of Naples. In 1841, he made his debut at the Bourbon Biennial with some representations of the pier of Naples and a painting representing a sunset. Scoppa passed away in 1957.
