Seguso Livio (Murano, 1930) Livio Seguso is an Italian artist. At the beginning of his artistic career he focused on the use of glass, as he was fascinated by its appearance and after having achieved a profound knowledge regarding the traditional techniques of glass processing, Seguso concentrated on plastic forms, so much so that his research led him to explore the world of the great masters of contemporary sculpture. He reached his full artistic maturity in the 1970s, when he abandoned glass processing and focused on crystal, changeable and ambiguous in its transparency, the ideal artistic medium for an imaginary vision. His sculptures manifest themselves in absolutely pure forms, not mimetic and not representative of anything.
