Roger Selden Biography
Selden Roger (New York, 1945) Roger Selden is an American painter. He studied at the Tyler School of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1966. In 1966 he moved to Rome and in 1968 he earned his Master of Fine Arts at the Tyler School, where he began his artistic career. Here he met Cy Twombly and assimilated the beauty of non-colour, of matter, of the groove, of time, transferring it onto the canvas. The corporeity present in his works will soon lead him to create sculptures. The dynamism of doing became the protagonist in the artist's painting, so much so that the speed of the gesture became increasingly evident in his works. Since 1968, Selden held numerous personal exhibitions in Europe and the United States and also exhibited at the Galleria Naviglio Modern Art. He also participated in the most important fairs in the world, such as Art Basel, Fiac in Paris, Arte Fiera in Bologna, Chicago Art Fair, Art Cologne, Arco Madrid, Art Forum in Zurich.
