Serra Enrique (Barcelona, ​​1859 - Rome, 1918) Enrique Serra was a Spanish painter. He began studying painting at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona, ​​where he had important artists as teachers, such as Ramon Martin Alsina and Domenica Talarn. In 1879 he went to Rome to complete his education, where he met Mariano Fortuny at the Chigi Academy. He soon achieved success in Rome and in 1895 he decided to move to Paris, the true capital of art in Europe and his experience served as a meeting point for many Spanish artists, who were starting their careers in the French capital. He obtained several awards, such as the gold medal at the Universal Exposition of Barcelona in 1888 and the third medal at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in 1895.
