Roberto Sguanci Biography
Roberto Sguanci was born in 1948 in Florence. After successfully attending courses at the School of Art until 1968, he dedicated himself to advertising graphics until 1973, the year in which his first solo exhibition was inaugurated. Later, Sguanci acquired skills in painting, poetry and writing, giving him a more complete artistic vision. During the 1980s he met Beppe Serafini, a great master of the art, from whom he learned the pictorial technique of wood pulp engraving, also known as "Scratched Oil". Later, Sguanci perfected this technique, personalizing it and transforming it into one of his distinctive brands. Sguanci's works are characterized by a disturbing and expressive inspiration, as they take inspiration from feelings, paradoxes and philosophies of everyday life. However, their creative strength instills a feeling of serenity and tranquility in the form and color choice of the painting, as well as in the viewer who admires it. Thanks to all these reasons, Sguanci is considered a complete and profoundly contemporary artist.
