Medhat Shafik, born in Egypt in 1956, has lived and worked in Italy since 1976. After graduating in painting and scenography from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, Shafik has successfully participated in numerous national and international art exhibitions since 1980 onwards. His artistic consecration occurred in 1995, when at the Venice Biennale the Egyptian Pavilion, which he represented and curated, was awarded the prestigious Golden Lion of Nations.
After this acclaimed experience, Shafik has been present in numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, both in public and private spaces. He is recognized as an exponent of Modern Egyptian Art, as demonstrated by his presence in the Timeline of Art History of the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
