Jim Sharman was born in Sydney in 1945 and is a leading figure in the Australian art scene. Being a talented director and screenwriter, Sharman can boast over 70 productions created, both for cinema and theatre. He is best known in Australia for his long career as a theater director, dating back to the 1960s and still active. However, he became internationally famous following the great success of his direction of the musical comedy "The Rocky Horror Show" in 1973, which was followed by the film "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" in 1975, and its sequel " Shock Treatment" in 1981.
