A pupil of Bernardino Pollinari at the Gazzola Institute in Piacenza, he received pictorial training related to late nineteenth-century academic canons. Frequent stays in Paris between 1898 and 1909. In the French capital he exhibited at the official Salons (1900, 1908), at the Salon des Indépendents (1909) and at the Salon des Divisionnistes Italiens (1907). Admitted to the Venice Biennale of 1912, from the middle In the 1910s he moved to Milan, where he worked for more than fifty years, and with few variations in style, through city views, portraits, Parisian and sacred subjects, Lombard and Tuscan landscapes.
