Marcello Simonetta (1930 - 2017) Painter, engraver and sculptor, born in 1930 in Legnano, inaugurated his exhibition activity in 1951 in Turin and then expanded throughout Italy and abroad. The technique mainly used is that of etching. Simonetta's canvases feature artificial, lyrical and threatening scenarios; subject to continuous mutation: the concept of "Pretext" is essential for him: it can be diversity, a symmetry, a label, an imprudence. There are numerous awards recognized for engraving: the “il Ponte” San Giovanni in Valdarno award in 1968, the III national engraving exhibition - Nova Milanese 2001 and many others. He died in Cremona in 2017.
