Sinisca (1929 - ) Mario Siniscalco, aka Sinisca, moved to Rome in 1946. He resided in the United States from 1976 to 2004. In Spello, in 2002, he inaugurated the "Fondazione Sinisca ac." by making a donation to the city municipality for the new Museum of Contemporary Art. He began to dedicate himself completely to artistic activity in 1958, first as a painter and designer and later, from 1970, also as a sculptor, also establishing himself as a set designer, designer and jewelery creator. He was particularly interested in the production of multiples, in the sector of graphic works and metal structures. He has held 166 personal exhibitions, participated in over 250 collective exhibitions in Italy and abroad and in official national and international events, including: a solo show at the Italian Cultural Institute in Brussels (2005); a solo show at the Korea Foundation Cultural Center in Seoul (2007); personal exhibition at the Vittoriano Complex (2008). On 27 June 2007 he was appointed by the Supreme Pontiff Benedict XVI as a member of the Pontifical Distinguished Academy of Fine Arts and Letters of the Virtuosi al Pantheon.
