Claudio Sivini Biography
He was born in Trieste on 5 June 1943. In 1961 he completed his studies as Master of Art at the “Enrico Nordio” State Institute of Art for Furnishing and Decoration of Ships and Interiors in Trieste. Art. In 1963, in the same institute, he obtained the teaching diploma. Well-known artists, among whom we will remember Bastianutto, Carà, Caramori, Cogno, De Gauss, Russian and Predonzani, contributed to his training. At the beginning of the 1960s, while still a student, he collaborated with the architects Boico, Cervi, Frandoli and Nordio on the furnishing and decoration of the last large Italian passenger ships. Subsequently he attended courses at the “Carlo Sbisà” School of Etching for three years. In the three-year period 1981-83 he was part of the board of directors of the Autonomous Artists' Union of Trieste. He was among the founders and animators of "Gruppo 12" (Bertini, Carà, Caramori, Cornachin, Giordani, Iacobi, Moretti, Pisani, Ponte, Sivini, Steidler, Vecchiet) and of "Group 5" (Famà, Moretti, Sivini , Steidler, Stocca) of Trieste. Since 1983 he has been involved in the exhibition activity of the historic "Caffè Stella Polare" in Trieste. Since 2000 he has been part of the "Arte Struktura" group of Milan and since 2009 of the "Arte Concreta Oggi" group (Costanzo, De Santi, Renko, Sgarbossa, Sivini). Since the same year, one of his works has been exhibited at the "International Museum of Glass Art and Baths" in Montegrotto (Padua). He successfully participates in various competitions for decorative works of public and private structures. In 1992, having won a national competition, he created a large decorative panel in the new “Nereo Rocco” stadium in Trieste. In 2003 he received the "Trieste Arte&Cultura" award. Since 1964 he has held numerous solo exhibitions and has participated in more than 320 exhibitions in Italy and abroad, winning prizes and recognitions.
