Cinthya Soto (1969 - ) is a Costa Rican artist based in Zurich, Switzerland. His approach is primarily based on photography, which he uses to examine the idea of ​​artifice in modes of representation and human relationships with the environment. He has a background in architecture, fine arts and cinema. He uses medium-sized analog photography in his work, examining how images are staged in display cultures through installations and meta-photographic gestures. His work has been exhibited widely in Latin America and Europe, including at the VIII Bienal de Cuenca in 2004 and the IILA's Pabellón Latinoamericano and at the 52nd Venice Biennale in 2007.
