Stangl Heinz (Vienna, 1942-2008) Heinz Stangl was an Austrian painter and graphic designer. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and had Maximilian Melcher among his teachers. Initially he approached the current of surrealism and then developed a freer self-expression, following a more sensual line with bright colors. He had his first exhibition in 1963 and other retrospectives in Austria and abroad. In 2004 he was involved in the major exhibition “Hommage à Picasso” and also became a member of the Vienna Secession.
