Nando Stevoli (1953 - ) Born in 1953, he is the artist of the "pleats" that he creates with folded canvases, in refined monochromes or bichromes. Stevoli is inspired by kinetic art and Op art. interpreting Fontana's words through research on the pleating of the canvas: a simple canvas arranged, accompanied on the support, generates highly expressive compositions with a precise color palette and a strong visual identity, the pleat, not without reference to Japanese aesthetics. After a long series of artistic experiments, from figurative painting to informal art and lithographic engravings, the artist identified the plissé path and in 2016 became part of Rigorismo founded by Flavio Lattuada and Massimo Donà. He has participated in numerous collective and personal exhibitions in Italy and around the world. He lives and works in Ferrara.
