Achim Stosser (1963 - ) is a German author. He writes science fiction, computer art and computer animation books. As an activist in the animal rights movement and veganism, he has contributed to the animal rights discourse with articles and essays. Stosser studied computer science at the University of Karlsruhe and then worked as a research assistant in the field of computer graphics and computer animation at the Institute for Dialogue and Operating Systems at the University of Karlsruhe and had a position as teacher at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design. From these two spheres of activity, he worked on the specialist book Photorealistic Computer Animation, which was published in 1991. Since 1988 he has published science fiction stories in anthologies and magazines, including the Verlag der Literature Gesellschaft Karlsruhe and the anthology series Phantastik by Wolfgang Jeschke . In the literary magazine Wander he is described as a science fiction author who does not move into the regions of bestsellers, but explores the boundaries of the science fiction genre in an intelligent and ingenious way. In 1998 he founded an animal rights initiative without association status and permanent members under the name Maqi - for animal rights, against speciesism.
