Guido Costante Sullam, born in Venice in 1873, was an architect and councilor of the Jewish community of Venice. He obtained a degree in civil engineering in Padua in 1895 and the title of professor of architectural drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice in 1904. He was one of the most important Italian liberty architects and starting from 1928 he became a professor at the University Institute of Architecture of Venice (IUAV). However, in 1938, following the enactment of the Racial Laws, he was suspended from his position. Sullam is particularly remembered for his architectural works on the Venice Lido. In 1924 he designed the entrance to the Jewish Cemetery of San Nicolò for the General Fraternity. He also held the role of councilor of the Jewish Community of Venice during the 1940s and after the Second World War. Sullam died in Venice on 17 October 1949.
