Gerhard Swoboda (1923 - 1974) was an Austrian painter and graphic designer.
Already in 1926 Gerhard Swoboda moved with his family to Vienna. After abandoning his medical studies, in 1946 he began studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, later becoming a student of the master sculptor Fritz Wotruba. Subsequently he devoted himself to painting.
His first solo exhibitions were held in 1949 at the Würthle gallery and in 1951 at the Vienna Konzerthaus. At the 1950 Venice Biennale he was represented as a sculptor and four years later as a graphic designer.
In 1952 he exhibited at the São Paulo Biennial. Gerhard Swoboda was a member of the Art Club, the Vienna Secession and taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
