Antonio Tamburro Biography

Antonio Tamburro, contemporary artist born in Isernia in 1948, dedicated himself to artistic training after art school and attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, under the guidance of master Giovanni Brancaccio, and then moved to Rome where he was educated by maestro Franco Gentilini. His long artistic career led him to become a rebel, intolerant of the rigid canons of academic teaching. His painting is characterized by the denunciation of a consumerist society, exploring moods that are sometimes melancholy, other times full of irony, but above all characterized by the use of color as a winning tool of artistic expression. Today Tamburro is unanimously recognized as one of the greatest masters of color by contemporary art critics and the public. Among his numerous solo shows hosted in Italy and abroad, an anthology at Palazzo Venezia, in Rome, accompanied by a book published by Mondadori, has definitively consecrated the artist among the great masters of the contemporary.
