Romeo Tanghal (1943 - ) is a Filipino cartoonist. He was born and raised in the Philippines. He emigrated to the United States in 1976. He began his career in 1977 working for DC Comic on the Batman title. He continued to work on titles such as Weird War Tales and DC Super Stars. He rose to industry fame in the 1980s for his work on DC Comics' The New Teen Titans. A self-taught artist, he began drawing comics after graduating from high school. He worked briefly with various local publications before emigrating to the United States in 1976. His first published work in the United States was "If There Was No Batman... I'd Have to Invent Him" ​​in Batman #1. 284 (February 1977) for DC Comics. Tanghal drew two origin stories for DC's Digest line during this period and also began working for Marvel Comics in 1986. He penned comic book adaptations of films such as Labyrinth, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, and Willow. Tanghal did character designs and storyboards for Sunbow Entertainment from 1985 to 1987.
