Giovanni Tariello Biography
Giovanni Tariello was born in 1950 in Castel Morrone. After attending the Art Institute of San Leucio (Caserta), he continued his academic studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, painting section, under the guidance of Giovanni Brancaccio, Armando De Stefano and Crescenzo Del Vecchio. His first pictorial experiences date back to the early seventies, while in 1971 he founded, together with Attilio Del Giudice and others, the "Junk Culture" group, and created the "44 Studio Junk Culture" in Caserta. In 1971 he collaborated with the Graphic Cell of the "Comune Sud" for the magazine "No", edited by Luca (Luigi Castellano), and was present in the n. 3 of "No" with an opera. In 1976 he was among the founders of the Collettivo Terra di Lavoro in Caserta (later Lineacontinua Terra di Lavoro), participating in interventions in Castel Morrone, Marcianise, Mercato San Severino and Gaeta.
Despite numerous interventions, meetings in galleries and open spaces, Giovanni Tariello has continued his aesthetic studio research for over forty years, continuously producing pictorial and plastic works. He has always loved to experience art intensely, also engaging with other languages, such as music, dance, theatre, cinema, photography and literature.
