GUGLIELMO SANSONI known as TATO (Bologna, 1896 – Rome, 1974) Italian futurist artist, as well as protagonists of aeropainting, met Filippo Tommaso Marinetti for the first time in Bologna in 1922 and became his friend. GUGLIELMO SANSONI known as TATO (Bologna, 1896 – Rome, 1974) Italian futurist artist, as well as protagonists of aeropainting, met Filippo Tommaso Marinetti for the first time in Bologna in 1922 and became his friend. In Bologna he founded, together with Leo Longanesi, Aldo Giovannini, Fanelli, Caviglioni and Federico Valli, the "First Emilian Futurist Group" which he would later direct. In 1929 Guglielmo Sansoni published, together with other futurists, the Aeropittura Manifesto in the Gazzetta del Popolo, which expressed the enthusiasm for flight, dynamism and speed. Guglielmo Sansoni was an "all-round" figure with a complex personality, dedicated to the creation of paintings, watercolors, ceramics and futurist photographs.
