Nello Taverna Biography
Nello Cornelio Taverna was born in 1950 in San Giorgio di Nogaro. From a young age he dedicated himself to painting, exhibiting already at the end of the 1960s. His work has attracted the attention of authoritative critics who have written in newspapers, magazines, art catalogs and television broadcasts. He has exhibited throughout Italy and abroad, both in galleries, museums and public and private exhibition halls. His works have been published in various art catalogs of Mondadori, De Agostini and other publishing houses and are known internationally.
In the 1980s, he abandoned mannered painting and began to experiment with different shapes and materials, such as earth, sand, salt, wax, ash and ceramic. Towards the end of the 1980s, his artistic research focused on the energy and harmony of the movements of water, sand and wind.
In this period, he began a collaboration with important Italian galleries and his works were disseminated throughout the world through "Arti Grafiche Ricordi". In 1998, he met the gallery owner Tiziano Forni from Bologna, with whom he established a trusted professional partnership that led him to exhibit in many Italian cities.
