Theimer Ivan (Olomouc, 1944) Ivan Theimer attended the Academy of Fine Arts and in 1965 took part in a collective exhibition. In 1968 he participated in the Bratislava Biennial and in 1973 he exhibited some of his works at the Paris Biennial. In 1978 he participated in the Venice Biennale in the French Pavilion. He organized several personal exhibitions in Europe, in particular in France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and even participated in an anthology dedicated to him in Prague Castle. He was also commissioned for numerous sculptures in France, including three bronze obelisks for the garden facade of the Elysée Palace (Paris) and a bronze relief for the facade of the National Archives (Paris). Also in Germany he created various sculptures for the cities of Kassel, Hamburg, Fulda and Marburg. Theimer lived between Paris and Tuscany and traveled extensively between Paris, Rome and Venice, defining Italy as an ideal territory in which to combine the richness of forms, symbols and techniques with his restless temperament and his anxious search for style.
