Son of Giambattista Tiepolo and brother of Giandomenico Tiepolo. Son of Giambattista Tiepolo and brother of Giandomenico Tiepolo. Upon his return to Venice he signed several portraits including one of a lady (pastel) dated 1757 now preserved in Ca' Rezzonico, and a brief engraving activity aimed at replicating his father's works was also ascribed to his Venetian stay which lasted just five years. In 1761 he was already in the brotherhood of Venetian painters called "la Fraglia". In 1762 he definitively abandoned Venice for Madrid, where he accompanied his father in the work for Charles III. In 1768 he painted a palace ceiling and a portrait of the royal family. After his father's death (1770), he obtained a small annual pension from the royal house of Spain on which he would live until his death.
