Lotita Timofeeva Biography
Lolita Timofeeva Jaskin (1964 - ) was born in Riga, Latvia. The artist uses different means to express himself, such as painting and sculpture, video and installation. He began his educational career in Riga, at the Technical Institute (stylism address), continuing his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Riga and completing them at the Academy of Design first in Petersburg and then in Moscow. Since 1991 he has lived in Italy. Since 1993 the artist has staged numerous personal and collective exhibitions in public places and private galleries in European cities. She has been a protagonist in museums such as Museum Het Paleis (The Hague/Holland), Museo Casal Solleric (Palma de Mallorca/Spain), Foreign Art Museum (Riga/Latvia), Museo Internazionale di Ceramica (Faenza/Italy). In 1997 he represented Latvia with a solo exhibition at the XLVII Venice Biennale. In 2011 he participated in the Moscow Biennial. His works are present in museums and private collections around the world, such as Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection (Madrid), Casal Solleric Museum (Palma de Mallorca), International Ceramics Museum (Faenza), Foreign Art Museum (Riga/Latvia) , National Library of Florence, Arturo Schwarz Collection (Milan).
