Aurelio Tiratelli was an Italian painter born in Rome in 1842. He began his artistic training at the Accademia di San Luca, focusing mainly on landscape painting, a genre that would become his hallmark throughout his career. Tiratelli traveled around the Roman countryside to paint them from life, developing a style characterized by remarkable chromatic delicacy and naturalism. Starting from the Seventies, Tiratelli attended the “Giggi Academy” in Via Margutta, an atelier made available by a model for the study of the figure from life. This small studio over time became a point of reference for a series of local artists in Rome. In this period, Tiratelli regularly participated in various exhibitions, in particular those organized by the Society of Amateurs and Connoisseurs. Aurelio Tiratelli died in Rome on 2 May 1900.
