Tofanari Sirio (Florence, 1886 - Milan, 1969) Impatient with the teaching given at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, he trained as a self-taught student by studying animals at the London Zoo, to which he dedicated his entire production. Tofanari Sirio (Florence, 1886 - Milan, 1969) Impatient with the teaching given at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, he trained as a self-taught student by studying animals at the London Zoo, to which he dedicated his entire production. Achieving great success at At the Faenza Exhibition of 1908, he came to the attention of the artistic world with his participation in the Venice Biennale of 1909. His intense exhibition activity continued in the post-war period: the sculptor participated in the first two Roman Biennials (1921 and 1923) , at the Venice Biennials from 1924 to 1936 and at various exhibitions in South America. In 1924 he exhibited at the Pesaro Gallery in Milan and in 1930 he held a solo show at the Bardi Gallery. Some of his works are preserved in the Galleries of Modern Art in Florence and Rome.
