Tranchino Gaetano (Syracuse, 1939) Gaetano Tranchino is an Italian painter of the 20th century. He trained at the Academies of Fine Arts in Rome and Milan and held his first solo exhibition in 1964 at the Galleria Toninelli in Milan with the presentation in the catalog of the famous art critic Franco Russoli. The exhibition aroused admiration from the Milanese public and from the most important art critics such as Marco Valsecchi, Liana Bortolon, Alberico Sala. Since then Tranchino has been present in many solo exhibitions at important Italian and foreign galleries. In addition to painting, the artist also dedicated himself to engraving, especially the burin technique, which is more in line with his expressive intentions. He also created sets for the National Institute of Ancient Drama and posters for theatrical performances.
