Jacques Trouve' Biography
1Jacques Trouvè was born on 28 June 1944 in Caen, France. He is a prolific sculptor, jeweler and marble worker. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Caen and at the Ecole Nationale Supérieur des Beaux Arts in Paris. During his studies, he participated in restoration projects of important historical monuments such as the churches of Falaise, Gisors and a Renaissance hotel in Albi, as well as the Hotel des Invalides and the sculptures of the Louvre Museum in Paris. In 1969 he moved to Italy, where he participated in numerous personal and collective exhibitions at a national and international level. From 1979 to 1984, he taught Plastic Arts at the Ecole d'Architecture et d'Urbanisme in Dakar, Senegal. Returning to Europe in 1984, Jacques Trouvè worked on the creation and restoration of public and private buildings, participating in sculpture exhibitions in Italy, France and the Netherlands. In 1996 he was called to Senegal, where he organized production workshops and created the models for the silverware and tableware of the Signare house. This work involved him until the beginning of 2002. In 2004 his important creation of the Monument of the Symbol of Senegal in the Senate of Dakar was remembered. Until mid-2006, the artist managed the Marble Department of a Senegalese company and subsequently opened his own business specializing in decorated marble surfaces.
